Ten months of lockdown, strict mask implementation, and social distancing may not be ending soon due to a new strain of the Coronavirus detected in various countries before the end of 2020. It was first identified in the United Kingdom in September of the previous year.According to the World Health Organization (WHO), this strain is 70% more contagious than COVID-19. Studies indicate that children and adults aged 60 and above are more vulnerable to this new variant. As more countries detect this strain, medical experts continue intensive research to understand its implications. Nonetheless, news of this new variant raised concerns about potential renewed lockdowns.

The COVID-19 crisis has already affected the health, social, and economic aspects of our lives. The emergence of a new strain doubled the worries and anxiety experienced globally. Experts from the University of Liverpool note that coronaviruses constantly evolve and mutate. However, this reinforces the importance of remaining vigilant, staying informed, and following safety protocols implemented by the government.

Despite pandemic-related anxiety, trusting in the effectiveness of vaccines—which underwent rigorous research—can help reduce the spread of the virus and alleviate worry. Additionally, taking personal precautions and adhering to health protocols will further protect ourselves and our communities.Regardless of the challenges the world faces, E-Guardian Philippines continues to uphold its commitment to providing excellent service to clients and stakeholders, while encouraging everyone to stay safe, responsible, and vigilant.
